Turn 12 scenes into a short video, step by step
Updated November 1, 2026 · 5 min read
You have a set of matching scenes. Here is how to turn them into a vertical video for Reels, Shorts or TikTok in about ten minutes, using the Scene Cards editor in your browser.
1. Pick a starting point
The editor offers a few starting points, such as a gentle day in the city or fast cuts. They only set the slide length and motion. You can change everything after, so pick the one closest to the mood you want.
2. Put the scenes in order
Tap scenes to add or remove them, and drag clips on the timeline to reorder. Aim for a clear order, such as morning, afternoon and night. For a 15 to 30 second video, six to ten slides at two to four seconds each is a good range.
3. Write short captions
Add one line per slide. Keep each caption under about ten words. Choose a caption style and an animation, and tap a word to colour it if you want to highlight it.
4. Choose motion and transitions
A slow zoom keeps still pictures alive. For transitions, a quick fade or a hard cut is usually enough. Try the dip to white for a change of time or place.
5. Add sound
Use Add Audio to bring in music you have the right to use, a sound file, or your own voice recording. Each one gets its own track. Cut or trim a clip at the playhead, set the volume, or mute it. Music gets quieter while a voice track is talking.
6. Export
Press Export video and keep the tab open while it runs. It takes about as long as the video. You get an MP4 in browsers that support it, or a WebM file otherwise.
A few tips
- Put the strongest scene first.
- Keep the same caption style on every slide.
- Check the video with sound off. Most people watch that way.
